Eye Primer, Philosophy and Bare Minerals Review

                                                                  Smashbox Primer

I will group these two together.  Years ago I tried a Lancome primer and did not notice a remarkable difference in my eyes.  I assumed it was = to using a foundation on your eyes and I never tried it again.  The Nars and Smashbox came with other items I recently purchased.  So may as well try them and unfortunately, I can still tell no great improvement.  Perhaps it is just me..

Nars Primer

Sephora Wrinkle Filler

The reviews for this wrinkle filler were fantastic.  I was totally hoping it would change my life!  It is very smooth and if nothing else helps your concealer go on.  But I still have the wrinkles...

Philosophy- Hope In a Jar

This product has received rave reviews for years.  It does feel great when you put in on but I am not convinced yet that it is worth the price tag.

Bare Minerals Starting Line up

`
This is the smallest image ever but hopefully you get the idea.  It has been years since I wore Bare Minerals. I am really not sure as to why I stopped.  I love this stuff!  I am not sure how it works but with using hardly any, your complexion is clear.

World Most Beautiful Buildings Include Alabama!

See below a portion of the article "World's Most Beautiful Buildings" Travel + Leisure.  Among buildings from all over the world is this building in Alabama!  What a testament to Auburn University's School of Architecture, Design and Construction! Check on the link to view these amazing building!

Akron Boys and Girls Club II, Akron, AL

Built by The Rural Studio, which famously teaches its architecture students to build structures made from scavenged materials for impoverished clients, this club features a big recreation area. Sheltered by a rolling wave of a roof, it’s supported by an ingenious early-1900s structural technique called lamella, with a high-tech-looking triangular frame fashioned from low-tech wood.
More Beauty: Also check out the student-built firehouse in downtown Newbern, AL, as well as the memorial to the school’s founder, Samuel Mockbee, behind the big red barn the school uses for its design studio.

Penne with Shrimp and Herb Cream Sauce

I have nothing negative to say about this recipe.  On the first try it was great!  If you do not mind leftovers, this dish was just as good the next day.  The richness of the ingredients make this meal one for a crowd! all you need is a salad.  Enjoy!

Did not realize how dark this picture is.  Much better representation on the link

Olive Cheese Bread

I discovered this recipe sometime ago but have only recently made it.  The one change I made to the recipe was to use chives from my garden instead of scallions.  This exchange was simply due to my laziness of not wanting to go to the store.

After the first test batch ( see above), I decided to use much less of the olive mixture on the bread.  I prefer crunchy, toasted bread and felt that less should be used to achieve the perfect texture.  If you like olives and cheese, you really have to try this! Enjoy

Miscellaneous outings

I have so many random photographs on my Iphone.  I thought I would add them to them blog so that at some point I can look back and remember what were doing at this time.  These photographs certainly are not in chronological order.

Tim scored a last minute trip to the Masters.  The above is shot of my swag.  He had a great time and I was so excited for him.  Thankfully, due to me LEED exam, we had planned to stay home for Easter and the timing worked out perfectly.  I was able to spend Friday night studying ( woo hoo ) and he got home Saturday afternoon.  We went to a great service at RUMC the next morning and had brunch at J. Alexanders.

This is so random and borderline stalker but I am extremely excited about the Earthfare  we are getting.  They are    renovating a building only a couple miles from us and hope to be open this summer!

I did not realize this picture was so blurry.  Big T ran the Mercedes Half Marathon again this year.   It was 11 degrees that morning!  We are still very proud of him!

Red Mountain Theatre group is a local organization I follow on Facebook.  One afternoon they asked a trivia question and I answered first!  They gave me 2 free tickets to the current production "The Taffetas".  Cece and I went and had a great time.  The theatre has been renovated and  I love it!

After the race!

Paws in the Garden was recently held at Aldridge Gardens.  We took our foster dog for adoption day.  We decided to take the opportunity to walk our girls since dogs are typically permitted in the park.

Another race shot of Tim.  I was a bad wife and did not attend this one, so this shot is all I got.

Love, love Wicked! Tim got me tickets and agreed to go! The show was fabulous and most importantly, he liked it!

That some ups my miscellaneous, out of order pictures!

Sun-Dried Tomato Spread Recipe

Ok, this is so not my photograph.  But I did not think to take one.  Maybe next time I make it, I will remember and add it.  Anyway, this Sun-Dried Tomato dip is amazing! It really is one of the best recipes I have tried in some time.  I substituted Greek yogurt for the mayo.

Its different than the same things you always have but no work.  Serve it and you will not be disappointed!  Enjoy!

Product reviews, Nars, Smashbox etc

This is not the exact kit I purchased, could not find an image of that. I purchased a kit with maybe 8 colors from hot pink to iridescent.   Smashbox lip gloss is my new FAV.  Great colors, lightweight and not the least bit "sticky"

This product has received great reviews so I was very excited to try it.  It feels great when you apply but I am not 100% convinced that it helps MY makeup look and stay on better

Nars Orgasm and Laguna, LOVE! I use Laguna for contouring.

I will admit, I am a lip gloss snob  connoisseur.  And Nars Spring Break did not pass the test, for me.  The color is extremely light (as in I looked like I was applying white gloss) and it has a very tacky texture.  I guess the color would work it you blended with a darker gloss or lip stick but...

Bath and Body has the best smelling candles for the Fall/Autumn season .  Often I go to the store at the end of the season to stock up for next year!  At the new year (when hands are SO dry)  I randomly got this lotion when I was going  to purchase my candles.  Surprising, I loved it!  Great scent, not greasy or heavy.

Enjoy!

Spring Break in Pictures

We wanted to do something different for Spring Break this year.  So instead of driving south to the beach, we headed north to Mentone, AL.  The boys were very excited to go to the "mountains" and we had a great time.  Here are a few shots from our trip:

Johnny Rockets

Little River Canyon

We never found the end of this trail...

This is the angle you get when a 5yr old is the photographer :)

Morning hike at Desoto St Park

They loved climbing the "rocks"

Hiking is tough on Poms

Another shot from a 5yr old

I will have a straw for lunch!

Cece and the boys

Sequoyah Caverns please excuse the lighting

Desoto Falls

Wilson's favorite past time, pulling hair

If only it worked :)

Train ride

We are so exhausted, we will even sleep in the same bed!
