This past weekend was gorgeous in Birmingham! This was the first weekend in quite some time that both of us were in town with nothing to do! We tried to make the most of our time and weather. Saturday was "Paws in the Garden" at Aldridge Gardens to raise money for a local humane society. Our foster, Cecily, was going to spend the day with her rescue group and meet potential families. We dropped her off and spent some time walking the gardens, so pretty. Unfortunately, Cessy barked all day, from 9:00am to 4:00pm! I honestly do not know why she does this. She does not bark at our house?? And not one of the potential families showed up to meet her :( I hope she finds her home soon.
We had a great sushi lunch and then it was time to get busy. Well for Tim at least. I cannot go outside for any length of time without a gas mask. I love this time of year with all of the flowers but constant sinus infections are no fun! Last year we made a garden in our back yard. We did not take into consideration the issue of weeds. And by the way, they can take over. This year T decided to do things differently and build raised beds. He had his work cut out for him...

The before. To say, we let the garden go, is a bit of an understatement. |
